ShotGlide stores all data locally on your device. To keep your work safe, export backups regularly.

Export a project

To export a project, open the project you want to export:

  • Project β†’ Open Sidebar β†’ Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Export this project

This creates a backup file containing all project data: scenes, scene order, shot order, linked shots, parked shots, drawings, and images. It saves your project in its exact state at the time of backup.

Save your backup file to a location of your choice on your iPad.

Import a project

This lets you import a project from a backup file previously exported from ShotGlide.

You can import a project from:

  • Dashboard β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Import project from backup

  • Project β†’ Open Sidebar β†’ Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Import project from backup

Then:

  • Select a project backup file

  • Review and confirm

  • The app will reload and the imported project will appear in you dashboard

Export a full app backup

You can export a full app backup from:

  • Dashboard β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Export full backup

  • Project β†’ Open Sidebar β†’ Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Export full backup

This creates a backup file containing all app data: projects, scenes, scene order, shot order, linked shots, parked shots, drawings, and images. It saves your app in its exact state at the time of backup.

Save your backup file to a location of your choice on your iPad.

Restore a full app backup

This lets you return to an earlier state, recover your work, or move it to a new device.

You can restore a full app backup from:

  • Dashboard β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Restore from backup

  • Project β†’ Open Sidebar β†’ Settings β†’ Backup & Restore β†’ Restore from backup

Then:

  • Select a backup file

  • Review and confirm

Warning

  • Restore replaces all current data in the app

  • All data created after the backup will be lost

  • This action cannot be undone

  • We recommend exporting a backup of your current data before restoring
