Ghost Ink is a second ink built into every frame drawing. Rough out your poses, construction lines, and thinking in Ghost Ink, then draw clean right on top of it — the ghost marks stay visible while you work and vanish from every export, print, and playback. Toggle them off to check your line, back on to find your way again, or clear them entirely once the frame drawing holds up on its own. It’s the blue pencil you never have to erase.
My thinking: anyone who storyboards or draws knows that a drawing evolves from a rough form to a refined one. Right now, short of bringing in a guide image, ShotGlide has no good way to support that. Drawing over your own rough and then erasing it is impractical, and the image import workflow — excellent as it is in other situations — feels like a counterintuitive compromise here. Ghost Ink seems like the right solution, and I haven’t seen anything like it in any comparable app.
Implementation note: this could work either as a dedicated ghost buffer per frame drawing — much like the image layer that already exists — or as a pixel-level attribute that marks certain pixels as ghost. Both get to the same place.
