Layers

We need layers. Even one additional layer would be huge.

Many panels in a storyboard will reuse elements. If I am storyboarding a complex action in a static frame, I will reuse background (or foreground) elements from one panel to another. Animation and storyboarding applications all provide at least one optional layer that the user can use as background or for reusing or, for that matter, for reference marks or drawing aids. Copying/pasting from/to another layer or another panel should be easy, since a storyboard artist will be doing it often.

When storyboarding on paper, I would trace my “stage” into panels that shared the same BG.
