Board View is the main workspace. It shows all frames in the current scene in shot order. Use the vertical scroll bar on the right to navigate through your board.

Frames per row

You can adjust how many frames are shown per row:

Open Sidebar → Settings and choose between available layouts. 3, 4, or 5 frames per row are available depending on your iPad model.

Frame menu

Open the menu on a frame (top-right corner) to access:

• Add shot before / after — Insert a new frame before or after

• Continue — Link this frame with the next, and so on. See Linked shots for more

• Duplicate — Create a copy of the shot

• Flip — Flip the drawing horizontally

• Park — Temporarily remove the shot to the Park Bin for later use

• Clear — Remove all strokes from the frame

• Delete — Remove the shot from the board

Reorder shots

You can reorder shots at any time while storyboarding.

Drag a frame using the horizontal handle at the top of the frame (where the shot number is).

With Apple Pencil, drag starts instantly. With your finger, touch and hold the handle for a moment, then drag.

A blue cursor shows where the shot will be inserted.

Drag the shot as far as needed and the view will auto-scroll.

Shot numbers update automatically upon drop.

Tip: To move a shot over long distances, use the Park Bin. Park the shot (or shot group), navigate to the target area, then drag it back from the Park Bin into its new position.

Custom Shot labels

You can manually rename a shot by double-tapping its number in Board View, or long-pressing it in Script View.

A label can be a number (26), a number with text (26A), or text only (INSERT).

A label you enter manually stays fixed unless you change it yourself. It never changes when shots are inserted, deleted, or moved.

Clear the field to return the shot to automatic numbering (in a frozen scene, the shot stays blank instead).

Freeze shot numbers

Freezing locks all current numbers in a scene, useful once your numbering is shared with your team.

In the sidebar, tap the ... menu on a scene and choose Freeze numbers:

• Numbers stay fixed — existing shots keep their numbers when shots are added, deleted, or moved

• Inserted shots start blank

• Shots added at the end keep counting

A snowflake icon appears next to the scene name while frozen.

Unfreeze shot numbers

In the sidebar, tap the ... menu on a scene and choose Unfreeze numbers:

• Back to automatic — shots are renumbered based on their current order on the board

• Your labels stay — labels or numbers you entered yourself stay unchanged

Top Toolbar

The top toolbar gives you quick access to tools and app sections. From left to right:

Sidebar
Open your projects, scenes, settings, backup, and help.

Board View
Return to the main drawing and editing board.

Flow View
Open the scene overview.

Script View
View your storyboard and script side by side.

Page View
Open the page layout and export view.

Park / Media Bin
Open the bottom dock for parked shots and imported images.

Export Menu
Export the active scene as a video or an image sequence.

Project / Scene Name
The center of the toolbar shows the current project and scene.

Pencil Settings
Choose brush type and base thickness for drawing.

Eraser
Erase parts of your drawing. Tap again to choose the eraser size.

Clear Frame
Clear all strokes from the current frame.

Color
Choose a preset or any custom color. The color dot button shows the active color.

Play
Preview your storyboard in full screen from the start of the scene.

Up Arrow
Jump to the first frame.

Down Arrow
Jump to the furthest drawn frame.

Add Frames

Each scene starts with 25 frames. When you reach the end of the scene, the Add Frames button appears at the bottom-left of the screen. Tap it to add 25 more frames.

Focus mode

You can open a single frame to draw in full screen.

Double-tap a frame to enter Focus Mode.
