Drawing with Apple Pencil

ShotGlide uses native iPad drawing, with full support for Apple Pencil. Pressure and tilt behave as expected, and strokes remain consistent across all views.

While in Board View, use Apple Pencil directly on any frame to draw.

Undo and Redo

You can use standard iPad gestures while drawing:

• Two-finger tap to Undo

• Three-finger tap to Redo

If there's nothing left to undo or redo, a short message tells you so.

Your last 100 drawing steps stay available while you scroll, drag frames, or switch views.

When you start drawing on another frame, ShotGlide starts a new undo history.

Tools

The drawing tools are in the upper-right area of the top toolbar.

Tap the Pencil+ icon to open the pencil panel:

• Thickness — sets the base line weight (independent of pressure sensitivity). Choose Light, Normal, Bold, or Heavy.

• Brush — choose Pencil (natural sketching feel), Pen (clean precise lines), Marker (thick highlights), or Solid (flat opaque strokes, ideal for filling areas and solid blacks).

Tap the Color Dot icon to open the color panel:

• Preset Colors — the two columns on the right provide quick access to grayscale values and common sketching or annotation colors.

• Color Wheel — choose any custom color. The currently selected color appears in the upper-right swatch.

• Eyedropper — tap the eyedropper, then touch any frame with Apple Pencil. A magnifier shows the color under the tip as you drag. Lift to pick that color. It picks from both drawings and background images.

• History — the bottom row shows your recently used custom colors for fast reuse. Tap Clear to remove the color history.

Other toolbar tools:

• Eraser — remove parts of your drawing, with adjustable sizes. It only erases your strokes, imported images stay untouched.

• Clear Frame — clears all strokes from the current frame.

Note: With Apple Pencil (2nd generation) or Apple Pencil Pro, double-tap your pencil to switch tools. With Apple Pencil Pro, you can also squeeze. Both follow your iPad's Apple Pencil settings.

Drawings can be moved, scaled, and rotated.
